American Cancer Society

A Message of Hope Cancer Fund, Inc

Many people wonder what they can do to help a cancer patient or cancer survivor. The answer is very simple - get involved! The Volunteers associated with the CSGSoMD, Inc. provide assistance to cancer patients as needed in such areas as transporting them to required appointments, accompanying them while they receive their treatments, providing emotional support on those bad days, assisting in searching out financial assistance, and assisting cancer patients in formulating questions to ask their physician. These are just a few of the opportunities as they relate directly to patient/survivor involvement. There are also a wide variety of other, less direct involvement opportunities that benefit cancer patients/survivors such as:

Disseminating local newsletter
Assisting with Direct Mailings
Assisting with fundraising events
Manning Informational booths at local events
Providing Resource research
Compiling and maintaining volunteer
name/address databases
Assisting in the maintenance of the web site
Serving as a member of one of our action committees

The list is endless! If you are interested in getting involved with our organization, contact us by phone at 301-373-2586 or by e-mail at csgsomd@md.metrocast.net to discuss your interests and ideas with us so that we can help you find a place in our volunteer army supporting, helping, educating, responding, and encouraging those with cancer, as well as those who love, care for, and care about them.

We are always looking for new volunteers to assist us in our efforts. We do not require that you possess any specific experience other than a desire to assist in achieving the objectives of our organization. We do ask that you browse the rest of the pages of our site for more details about our organization. It is our hope that you will seriously consider supporting us by participating in our activities.
